1. Place the bodice of the tissue style pattern over the basic pattern matching center front or back at the waistline.
2. Compare the two for length and width. Make whatever adjustment is needed to bring the upper part of the bodice into such position that you can compare the neck, the shoulders and the armholes. This may mean lengthening or shortening the patter either above or below the dart.
3. Trace the entire contour (all outside seam lines) from your basic pattern.
4. Check the position, height and mount of the dart control. Alter accordingly by tracing from your basic pattern.
Skirt
1. Place the skirt style pattern on your basic pattern, matching the center front or back at waistline.
2. Compare the length and width. Trace the entire contour from the basic pattern.
3. Check the position, length and amount of dart control. Make needed changes by tracing your basic pattern.
Sleeve
1. Place the sleeve pattern on your sleeve basic pattern matching the grain. One grain line need not necessarily fall directly over the other in which case it must be parallel to it. Match the underarms at the side seams.
2. Compare the sleeves for length and width making such adjustments as are needed. Trace the sleeve cap from your basic pattern. Make certain the armhole of the bodice ins just right for it.
3. Check the position, length and amount of the elbow dart control.
Make necessary changes by tracing from your basic pattern.
