1. Layout the pattern according to envelope instructions.
2. Pin the pattern along the longest edge. Gently smooth the pattern in all directions. Pin through the center and the outer edges. Pins shouldn’t project over the edges of the pattern. Don’t lift the material as you pin the pattern.
3. Re-check the layout instructions, making sure you’ve accurately placed pattern pieces.
4. Cut along the edge of the pattern, keeping an even line and cutting the notches as projections.
5. Cut corners by using the points of the shears.
