
Fill the water reservoir with softened water. Soften the water by adding 1/4 teaspoon of borax to the lukewarm water you’re using to fill the steam iron’s water reservoir. Soften water helps prevent mineral deposit and hard water stains.
- Iron pleats flat two to three at a time on the wrong side; then iron then again on the right side.
- Steam press woolens on the wrong side.
- Don’t steam iron silks.
- Follow the manufacturers instructions when pressing synthetic fabrics.
- NEVER iron a stain. Otherwise you’ll set in the stain.
- To protect buttons when ironing, invert the bowl of a spoon over the button.
