The first time I attempted to sell a sewing pattern, I had no idea what I was doing.
I listed the pattern saying nothing more than the envelope is in good condition. I didn’t even bother describing the pattern or indicating the size until a buyer emailed wanting a description of the pattern and size. In addition to wanting to know if the pattern was ffuc.
Up to that point I’d assumed everyone out there looking for a vintage sewing pattern knew what I thought I knew. I thought everyone understood the lingo and associated acronyms. Not so.
There’s a fair amount of jargon in cyber space related to vintage sewing patterns. It’s a good ideal to ask questions if you’re uncertain about information contained in a listing.
Definition of FFUC: Factory fold uncut. A factory fold pattern is a sewing pattern in it’s original folded state of condition that hasn’t ideally been unfolded.
