Julien's Auctions auctions Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley's stuff
Posted on | May 27, 2009 | No Comments
in West Hollywood, California is hosting an auction of some of Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley’s property on June 26 and 27.
Among some of the items are a terry cloth robe, believed to be the last piece of clothing Marilyn wore before she died of an overdose.
And a prescription bottle belonging to the King, dated one day before the he died of an overdose.
Other items are also up for bid.
Is it just me or does the auctioning of at least these two items seem morbid and a bit tacky?
Or does the circumstances make the articles more desired, famous, historically significant or valuable?
As a collector…should ethics play a part in what you collect and sell?
Food for thought.
