How to make a nursery rhyme quilt in 21 blocks

Posted on | October 6, 2009 | No Comments

Over the next 21 weeks I’m posting a series of 21 quilt blocks as part of a nursery rhyme quilt.  I’ll post one (1) block of the quilt for embroidering each week.  Well, each week or so (smile) up to the eleventh week.  To receive the additional blocks to the quilt 12-21 I’d ask that you please subscribe.  Thank  you for understanding and happy embroidering!

Here’s some need to know information

1.  Transfer each block with carbon paper onto a block seven inches square.

2.  Fabric suggestions:  Cream or off-white in percale, sateen, muslin or broadcloth are best for the quilt blocks since the colors of the embroidery floss contrast nicely with it.

3.  Out of one yard of material 36 inches wide, 21 seven inch blocks can be cut.

4.  Outline all the lettering in black embroidery floss, it will tie the quilt blocks more closely together.

Complete the instructions for joining the nursery quilt blocks together are given later.

Nursery Rhyme blocks:
