Worth their weight in gold vintage sewing patterns

Vogue 7528

I few months ago I ran across Vogue 7528 and contemplated purchasing it.  For whatever reason, I didn’t and moved on.  Periodically, I’d check back and the pattern would still be there, until one day it wasn’t.

I immediately began searching for the pattern to see if it was for sell elsewhere.  I found the pattern on eBay-the subject of fierce auction bidding.  Really fierce bidding.

To make a long story short, Vogue 7258 sold for more than $700.00.

As of a few weeks ago someone else on eBay listed another V7528 with a buy now price of $328.72.  I’m not sure if it sold.

Prior to this the fiercest bidding I’d witnessed on eBay involved a single vintage sewing pattern of a 1940s backless evening gown (Sorry, didn’t retain the pattern number).  The pattern eventually sold for $191.00.  The kicker-it was an envelope ONLY offer.  The pattern pieces and instruction sheet were missing.
