Highly Affordable Sewing Tools

Crayola Washable Crayons

I stole this ideal from Threads (a subscriber uses them as marking tools) and decided to give Crayola Washables a try.  I used them on muslin-worked like a charm (the varying colors are nice) and washed away with no problem.

Friskar Scissor Sharpener

Way more affordable than getting shears professionally sharpened when all your shears need is a quick tune-up.  The Fiskar Scissor Sharpener is light-weight and all that’s required to sharpen up is to slip the shears into the sharpener and give them a quick cutting motion. Ta-da!   Minor assembly required.

Dritz Tracing Wheel

Forget about ruining vintage sewing patterns byway of the tiny little holes serrated tracing wheels leave behind.  A smooth edge tracing wheel by Dritz is a better option.
